Engineers Without Borders

I have been involved with the University of Cincinnati Chapter of Engineers Without Borders since the beginning of my freshman year, and currently serve as the Vice-President of the UC Chapter.

We have international projects in three communities in the Mara region of Tanzania - Burere, Roche, and Nyambogo. We partner with these communities to provide access to clean drinking water buy digging wells and setting up distribution networks. In Nyambogo, we have completed our 9 kilometre long water distribution system, and are now focusing on sanitation projects near the primary schools, i.e. building latrines and handwashing systems, as well as educating the community on sanitation-related subjects.

I previously traveled to Nyambogo, Tanzania on an assessment trip in March 2016 to stake out our pipeline system and sign a memorandum of understanding with our partner community. I hope to travel next on an implementation trip to Burere in Spring 2018.

As Vice-President of Internal Affairs, it is my duty to oversee the three sub-committees for our international projects, as well as our sub-committee for Community Outreach, which focuses on domestic projects such as Habitat for Humanity.
