Software Major

I co-oped at Software Major, a fast-paced tech startup, as a Software Developer in Summer 2017. Software Major is a member of Europe’s largest tech incubator, Level39, which provided me the opportunity to benefit from a plethora of networking sessions and tech talks as well as a diverse group of technologists and entrepreneurs from all over the world.
While at Software Major, I worked on two main projects: Cask Angel, a web application for the whiskey industry, and Matchstixx, a social-betting mobile platform.

Cask Angel was developed using the PHP Symfony framework and Twig, along with HTML, CSS and JavaScript for support. This application was connected to a device placed inside each cask in a warehouse, whose sensors took readings every hour and fed them back to the application. The application then alerted warehouse employees in case of emergencies and provided data insights as well.
The other main project I worked on was Matchstixx, a mobile application built using React Native. React Native enabled me to build a single application with support for both iOS and Android platforms. Being part of a start-up means wearing many hats, and therefore I was part of each stage of development, from prototyping and nailing down the idea with the client to front-end and back-end development.
